Brass Rolls/Wheels

Brass Rolls/Wheels are used by bookbinders as well as Antique & Desktop Leather Restorers. They are used as a finishing product to lay down gold leaf/foil to the edges and cover of a book as well as leather inlays for desktop leather furniture.

Our Brass Rolls/Wheels are made in just over 2” diameters or to fit the artwork as required. They come as standard with a single sided fork with extended 16” sculptured hard wood handles and stainless steel axle. If required different size axles are available to fit your single sided fork. Brass wheels can be bought separately to fit your single sided folk, this can save space in your bindery or workshop

Our decorative Brass Rolls/Wheels are deeply engraved flush to one edge making them easy to sight on the workpiece. These wheels would make a perfect addition to Bookbinders or antique furniture restoration collection.

These tools require heat to make the impression onto leather. They work well using gold leaf, foil or simply blind embossing.

The designs in the catalogue can be made to different width sizes depending on the customers requirements, all of our designs can also be made into 3” (75mm) Flat pallets with wooden handles or Decorative type high strips to fit a typeholder or printing machine chase.

If the design you require is not in the catalogue, Bookbindesigns are able to make bespoke Brass Wheels from artworks, photographs, pdf, AI, old leather prints or any other format you may have.
